To all FinnFest 2008 Volunteers and friends of FinnFest

 

We are fast approaching the date for the beginning of this summer’s FinnFest 2008, the 25th annual presentation of this national event.  The dates are July 23-27.  You are probably aware of the many events scheduled during this week.

A number of our performers are coming from Finland to help us celebrate this event and this is one portion of this FinnFest where members of our Duluth community could become a real part of this event.  The performers who are coming cannot receive any remuneration for the contribution they make to our celebration.  We are looking for people who would be interested in hosting them as a part of their families while they are here.

The number of days could vary anywhere from 3 to 10 days depending on travel connections.  If you have room for one, two or more people at your home, please let me know as soon as possible.  These folks would need a place to sleep, (perhaps instructions on how to use your washer and drier) most likely breakfast and transportation to the DECC for their performance.   Your help in all or part of this would be most appreciated.

We would be grateful for your assistance by welcoming these folks in this way and showing them our Northland hospitality.
