Duluth, MN -- Applications for the FinnFest 2008 Tori (Market Place) are now being accepted. The Tori will be located in Pioneer Hall at the DECC, and the spaces are limited to maximum of 150 booths/vendors. FinnFest 2008 will be one of the major summer events in Duluth, with an expected 7000-8000 visitors.

Application forms can be downloaded from the FinnFest 2008 website at www.finnfest2008.com, or requested from Rodney J. Ikola, by email: rikola@mchsi.com, fax: (218) 262-4575, or by mail: 2305 Highway 37, Hibbing, MN, 55746.

FinnFest 2008 Tori (TOW-ree), will feature special products from local, national and international vendors, showcasing everything from handcrafts to sauna builders. Live entertainment will also be provided by a variety of musicians on the Tori stage.

The tradition of having Tori at FinnFest events comes from the old Finnish infrastructure, where every town had their own market place in a central location. Co-chairs of the FinnFest 2008, Diane Skomars and Jeanne Doty, identify the Tori as being a place where people can meet, enjoy the music performances and buy unique products. "The Tori will be the heart of our event. It is an important part of the Finnish culture and a perfect way for us to share the spirit of Finland," adds co-Chairs Skomars and Doty.
