Dear Fiddlers,

 

Have you heard about FinnFest 2008? It is one of next summer’s biggest events, and will be held in Duluth July 23-27. We are inviting violinists of all ages to join us in the opening ceremony. Imagine playing with over 200 other “fiddlers”!

The opening ceremony for this grand FinnFest will be on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the DECC Auditorium. It would be great to have you and your students joining us. It is very easy to become involved: a pdf file of the three fiddle tunes (used with permission) and downloadable mp3 files are available on the website:  www.finnfest2008.com

Please select the specific part that best suits you as a violinist.

The rehearsal schedule is as follows:
#1  Wednesday, July 16; 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.; Bohannon 90 at UMD
#2  Sunday, July 20, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.; Bohannon 90  at UMD
#3  Wednesday, July 23; 4:00 p.m.; DECC AUDITORIUM
PERFORMANCE: Wednesday, July 23; 7:00 p.m.; DECC Auditorium.

Performers should plan on attending all rehearsals.

I urge you, your students, and your friends to join us on Wednesday, July 23 for a thrilling musical event! The opening ceremony will be free and open to the public.
Please let us know how many violinists will join us in this exciting event; we would love to hear from you by May 1!
