FinnFest 2008 Cultural Presentations and Genealogy Committee

The 2008 FinnFest Cultural Presentations and Genealogy Committee intends to offer attendees high quality, thought provoking and culturally rich sessions. Sessions will include the 2008 FinnFest themes of culture, music, women, and Finnish-Anishinaabe integration. We will also place special emphasis on regional topics related to Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin. While Finnish-American festivals such as this often include well-respected presenters in various fields, we intend to include many of those in addition to several “new faces”.  See our [link]..Daily Schedule of Presentations..for an idea of the breadth and quality of our program. While we are still working on a complete list of biographies for our presenters, you can see some of the people you will have an opportunity to meet during FinnFest2008 by clicking on our [link]..Biographies..

As with several past FinnFests, we will offer a “Genealogy Room” at FinnFest 2008. Beyond the usual genealogical research assistance, FinnFest 2008 will also offer information and discussion on DNA and how this type of cutting edge research data can provide information far beyond what most people realized was possible.
