FinnFest 2008 will be held in Duluth, MN on July 23-27, 2008 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center. The event will be one of the biggest summer events in Duluth with over 7,000 Finns and friends expected to attend. "Sharing the Spirit of Finland" will be the main theme for the FinnFest 2008, which marks the 25th FinnFest USA event celebrating the Finnish culture and heritage. The organizers of FinnFest 2008 are very busy making all of the last-minute arrangements to make sure we are ready for our FinnFest guests. We will have many volunteers on hand to answer all of your questions at the event. Remember, you can register and buy all your tickets on-site. The four major themes of FinnFest 2008 are:
• Culture – the appreciation of the customary beliefs, social forms and material traits of the Finns spanning generations both in Finland and the USA
• Music – the exploration of the signature works of Finland’s most influential and eminent composers as well as prominent folk musicians
• Women – the impact of Finnish women in Finland and the USA
• Finnish-Ojibwe Integration – the study of the interaction of two distinguished cultures
